RQ 205 is an undoped quartz glass which is also used in the production of high quality light sources. It has a slightly higher impurity level than RQ 200 but benefits from superior workability. RQ 205 tubing is also used for components such as sleeves.
RQ 205 is not doped and consequently has no UV control. The transmission value of RQ 205 is comparable to that of RQ 200.
RQ 205 is available in different maximum OH-content grades:
RQ 205 unbaked (OH: 90 – 120 ppm)
RQ 205 V4 vacuum-baked (OH ≤ 5 ppm)
RQ 205 V40 vacuum-baked (OH ≤ 1 ppm)
Other OH content levels may be produced on request.
