Depending on the field of application, various sand qualities based on the chemical purity of the sand are used. And we offer our customers products in the optimum material quality for their specific application.
We only use high quality sands from Unimin.

For our clients we offer products with the following qualities of sand:

  • RQ200 (Iota Standard CGU)
    This sand is largely used to produce tubing for the lamp industry and rods for the fibre optics industry.
  • RQ205 (Iota P)
    This sand is used, for example, to manufacture sleeves for the water disinfection industry.
  • RQ235 (Iota Standard CGU + TiO2)
    This titanium-doped sand is primarily used for the production of UV lamp bodies with modified transmission properties.
  • RQ500 (Iota Standard-6)
    This sand contains fewer lithium, sodium and potassium impurities and is primarily used to manufacture high-purity quartz glass products for the semiconductor market.
  • RQ600 (Iota 6)
    In addition to the properties of RQ500, this sand also has a low aluminium content. It is used to manufacture highest purity quartz glass tubing for the semiconductor industry and is also suitable for UHP (Ultra High Pressure) lamps.
